Hidetada Yamagishi is the biggest name among the pros here, but because of his serious injuries it is possible that he won't have a 100% shape. He had a great season opening with the Flex Pro, where he could qualify for the Mr. Olympia Show, but when he started preparing for the autumn season, he discovered a partial tear in his triceps. Roelly Winklaar is in hospital and will soon have a surgery. Roelly had a great debut last year as a professional and could get even the qualification for the Mr. Olympia where he could have been a real favorite if he doesn't have a bad timing. He could qualify this year as well but he won't participate as he has some problems with his jaw which will be operated soon. He and his trainer decided that he skips this Mr. Olympia and next time he prepares for a competition not too long before the Olympia to get the qualification and to avoid the stress of preparing two times. |

The New York Pro seems to be one of the best shows of the year according to the list of competitors.
Kai Greene has announced already in March to participate the New York Pro and it will be really hard to get the champion title from him this weekend. The 'Predator' who has really good chances at the Mr Olympia as well is in an extremely good condition.
We shouldn't forget about Ronny Rockel as well who has last year defeated 'the Predator' but it happened because of the bad timing of Kai Greene.
Roelly Winklaar participates as a defending champion but it seems to be a hard for him even to step up on the podium.
Cedric McMillan has won his first professional champion title at the Europa Show of Champions one month ago but his mass is not enough for this fight.
In the category of 'under 202 pounds' the greatest fight seems to be between Jose Raymond and James 'Flex' Lewis.

Jay Cutler has announced to participate the Asian Grand Prix after the Mr. Olympia Weekend.
It happened in 2006 last time that Jay participated more than 1 competition and this time he chose the Asian Grand Prix where he will have great opponents like Kai Greene, Phil Heath or Branch Warren.
Behind this decision there can be two reasons:One is that he is totally sure to win these competitions and the other is that he is planning to retire after this season and as a "cool down" he wants to feel the mood of smaller competitions for the last time. We will see... | 2011-05-08
The usual annual star parade, the NPC Pittsburgh Championship was organized with the participation of Jay Cutler, Phil Heath, Kai Greene, Dexter Jackson, Dennis Wolf, Branch Warren és Toney Freeman. The Show could have been even the final of the Mr. Olympia, looking at the contestants, though they all were in the middle of their off season. Except for Kai Greene who showed a really great shape, so it seems that he found a good trainer in the person of George Farah.

Milos Sarcev is in jail again. Milos's life is not perfect at all in the recent period as accused for robbing his own gym and beating his sister-in-law. Cedric McMillan has won his second professional championship, the Europa Show of Champions. Although he was not in his best shape and he couldn't increase his muscle mass since last year, but it was enough for the win. Marcus Hailey was surely disappointed with his silver medal as he went there to win. The lean muscle mass was the best for Evgeny Mishin who was third this time, so it seems that the judge valued the structural facilities.

Dexter Jackson and Melvin Anthony have been seen to train together in the Venice Gold's Gym. Melvin haven't competed for more than one year as without any sponsor he couldn't afford himself to prepare for the Mr. Olympia, though after an unsuccessful season he won the season opening Phoenix Pro. According to the latest news it is possible that Dexter will soon follow him. The 2008 Mr. Olympia seems to be fired by his sponsor as well and this means 300.000 $ fewer in the cassa. None of them has commented these thoughts yet.

Silvio Samuel's return is shifted a bit and we got some news regarding his illness. According to our information the last summer health problem was not a simply illness which was mistreated. However, recently it was found that the real cause was poisoning, and Silvio merely said that the person was someone very close to him. The police have been working on it, so certainly in the near future, further details will be disclosed. The champion would have liked to start the 2011 season at the Australian Grand Prix, but in the meantime has decided to prepare for the New York Pro instead. - which is not surprising, since he only began training again in January together with his trainer, Charles Glass Nations. |

Kai Greene extended his contract with Weider Publications! Since his contract kai participated only at Mr. Olympia, where he was 7th, which is not a great result and what a sponsor and fans expect from one of the best competitors. Despite this, the "Predator" is still considered to be among the largest and most experts are really sure that this year he will be much better.

Ronny Rockel has successfully defended his title at the Mr Europe Pro. His physique was almost perfect on stage, but had a really close fight against Roelly Winklaar. They will have one more great fight at the FIBO Power, we will see how they could keep their shape. Sami with this title won the right for a professional card. So it is possible that we will soon see him on stage among the best professionals under 202 category. |

Branch Warren has won the British Grand Prix without any serious opponent. So with this 2nd champion title in the spring season he can start a hopefully really succesful preparation for the Mr. Olympia in the automn season.
Roelly Winklaar can be happy with his second place, who improved a lot since the Arnold Classic and could show a really dry physique.
Johnnie Jackson is the third, who unfortunately cannot really fight for the champion title because his legs are lack of enough mass.
Ronny Rockel was the negative surprise of the night, he could only be fourth before Michael Kefalianos and Toney Freeman.
James "Flex" Lewis won the 202 category without a serious opponent just like Branch and with the best shape of his life.

Dennis Wolf didn't cause any disappointment this time for his fans. He won. And not only the first place but also the special prize for the best poser. So he got a new motivation for trying to defeat the Arnold Classic Champion Branch Warren at the Brit GP next week.
The second place belongs to Johnnie Jackson who couldn't defeat Dennis because of his thigh but he got the Mr. Olympia qualification.

Unfortunately Roelly Winklaar will skip the Australian Grand Prix and wants to concentrate on the European shows. According to the news he had some health problems at the Arnold Classic that is why his shape was not the best. The last competition will be the New York Pro for him.

According to the recent statements it can be concluded that Victor Martinez and Evan Centopani will skip the Australian Grand Prix. Previously, both were told the organizers that would like to participate in the Australian race, but Victor has not promised anything for granted because he did not have a visa, and Evan's partizipation was dependent on his results at Arnold Classic and Flex Pro. Alexey Lesukov won't stop after winning the amateur Arnold Classic! Alexey won the Arnold amateur bodybuilding competition in heavyweight category, but couldn't get the absolute title. Toney Freeman was cleared of a charge because of his visit in December in Sweden! The X-man admitted the anabolic steroid use which he said to be prescribed by the doctor and also admitted consuming marijuana in Holland one day before. The doping violation by the police therefore could not be used against him, and now cleared of the charge of drug use, since it is consumed in the Netherlands, where it does not conflict with the law. |

Branch Warren made his dream come true and won The 2011 Arnold Classic without any serious rival. He had a brutal weight with brutal condition and as usual he could also take home the prize for the most muscular competitor.
Dennis Wolf won the second place with a great physique although he became flat to the end of the competition. That is a regular problem for him for which he has to find a solution to be able to win. Dennis won the prize for the best posing.
Victor Martinez can be happy to start working with Oscar Ardon. Victor received the 3rd place and with a bit greater condition he could also have been the winner with his huge weight.

Phil Heath and Jay Cutler also appeared at the Arnold Sportsfestival Expo, where they showed some common poses for the fans. As they both have the same sponsor, they could pose side by side. It was surprising that Heath was amazing in shape beside Jay. He didn't seem smaller at all. So hopefully we are going to see a great battle in September at the Mr. Olympia between them.
